The most alarming military action we have ever taken was to gun down survivors of a recent American attack on a Venezuelan vessel. They were in the water waving for help. Little did they know that expecting help would cost them their lives. They should have hidden under the hull but sadly, they expected the compassion that all stranded mariners have counted on since ships first set sail. Even “the enemy” stranded in the water is rescued.
But we no longer are humane. We no longer follow maritime law. Where has this come from?

Elon Musk has said empathy is civilizational suicide. For him empathy is illogical.
Peter Thiel has “frequently expressed skepticism about the efficacy and potential negative consequences of empathy in public policy and decision-making.” Empathy simply is not efficient.
While Elon Musk may no longer be the billionaire power behind the throne, Theil is. Palantir is his company and it has “drawn criticism for its effectiveness in critical missions such as counterterrorism.” So Theil’s philosophy of no empathy runs our military counterterrorism operations?
–ASIDE–
In case you might not think Theil influences our emerging political philosophy, Palantir’s banner dominated the visual scene at the end of Trump’s parade. Furthermore, promoting AI is at its foundation. Was Trump’s unknown pre-election connection with Palantir the source of his statement day one that “We will appropriate 500 billion for AI.”
An AI run military could be the harbinger of a bloodless AI run world, devoid of all empathy and compassion.
–END ASIDE–
A creepy coldness has crept into our country at the highest levels. A coldness those poor survivors failed to discern. Is our military being trained to become dangerous psychopaths and terrorists themselves?
